This video is a tutorial for the Giuliani’s thirteenth arpeggio study. Study No. 13 is derived from Study No. 11 (beats 1 and 3) and Study No. 12 (beats 2 and 4). If you haven’t learned Studies 11 and 12 already, be sure to go back and practice them before approaching No. 13. As usual, we will master this arpeggio study using two approaches. The first approach uses full planting, which means that p, i, m, and a will all plant on the strings at the beginning of each beat. This approach will “stop” the sound at each beat. The second approach uses sequential planting of the right hand fingers, which results in a more legato sound.
