This video is a tutorial for the eighth study and examines two approaches. The first is using a staccato planted “a” finger on the first string to train right hand to maintain a good position during the arpeggio. The second approach is the legato, or traditional approach, to the study, which is to let all the strings ring as much as possible as you play the arpeggios. The first method should set your hand up to play the second method more easily.
