VIDEO: Chaconne in G Major with 21 Variations HW 435

Chaconne in G with 21 Variations is a monumental work by George Frideric Handel, one of the titans of the Baroque period. Originally for Harpsichord, this has been transcribed quite famously for guitar duo. The piece itself has a stately theme in the major key which the variations all derive from, then transitions to a dark minor middle section with it’s own set of variations, only to rise triumphantly back to the major key themes for a happy ending. It truly is an epic journey.

Filmed live using a GoPro HERO4 Black.

The Bassett Bros., Sean Bassett and Ian Bassett, are a San Diego based guitar duo.
